Most people, regardless of religion, will say a prayer or blessing over their food before eating. It’s an act of thanksgiving to God for providing the physical nourishment.
I’ve discovered that when I pray in thanksgiving before feasting upon the scriptures, my mind is enlightened while I read and ponder.
You’ve probably had an experience where you read a scripture and it was the VERY spiritual nourishment you needed at that very time. I find this happens more often when I pray in thanksgiving and guidance before partaking of the spiritual nourishment.
After you Feast Upon the Word in the scriptures or at church meetings, you can plan to learn more than you did before! Here’s my experience; excuse my raspy voice as a result of the weather change.
